My Commitment to You

Before I can start any piece of work I need to have appropriate information. If you are considering one of my services please contact me via the contact form giving as much information as possible. I will come back to you with any additional questions.

I will then assess the information and develop a research plan. There is no charge for this. At this stage I will be able to give you an estimated cost for the work. If we both agree with the plan I will invoice you for 50% of the charge and following receipt of monies I will begin the work. There is some flexibility around this which I am happy to discuss. On completion I will invoice you for the balance of the cost and on receipt of this will send you the report in the format you have selected.

Please note that my initial assessment may indicate that a positive outcome is unlikely because, for example, records have not survived. If I feel that I do not have sufficient expertise in a particular area of research I will direct you elsewhere.  

Be aware that research may uncover information which may be uncomfortable or upsetting. I am professionally bound to report such information but will do so in a sensitive manner.

I will keep you informed of progress via email on at least a fortnightly basis. Regularity of emails will be influenced by the size and complexity of the project.
